Another busy week

Last weekend was Loyalty Days in Newport, and the Toledo Chamber served up breakfast and lunch at the PUD building for the car show. It was cold but we had a great time. Here is Newport's Mayor Bill Bain and Celeste Mathews cookin up a good time...


I was hired by Newport Tile Works to capture the essence of their products for their website, that was a really fun job. They do beautiful work. Here's my favorite. Big surprise, huh?


I was hired to photograph a wedding at the Oregon Coast Aquarium last weekend, what a great place to have an exceptional event. This group was more than exceptional, they were all theatre folks, and VERY outgoing. What fun!Nice 'do, huh?
Last night, Brooke and I took advantage of the mild weather and cajoled Lucky and Quincy into a stroll around the pasture.

Back to raining again today, but I hear the forecast is for sunshine and warmth... finally. Yay!!

Marshmallow farm?

On the way home from the Tillamook Forest Center last Sunday, Eric stopped the car so I could snap some shots of what looks like a farm that produces giant marshmallows. We watched the machine that wrapped these giant hay bales in white plastic. Why they do this, I don't know. To keep the hay fresh, perhaps? It is kinda fun to picture these things as giant marshmallows, tho.

Road Trip! Part Seven: The Rocky Mountains

 The next couple of days were spent sightseeing in the Rockies with my favorite cousin, Melanie. One major highlight was a ride on the  Georgetown Loop Railroad .  The weather was perfect, the company was awesome, and the scenery was second to none. Click on one of the pictures to enlarge them into a filmstrip view. What a great ride!  I highly recommend it if you're ever in the Denver area. Next, we went to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Cousin Melanie got a shot of a moose; I was too far away.  Great shot, Mel! This was mid-June.  It was fun to see snow and walk around on it, we don't get much here at the Oregon Coast! I put my mom's ashes in the creek in her hometown. I sure do miss her. Next up:  The Tetons!

Agate Windows

The GraceNotes have been busy lately, singing at assisted living facilities around the county. We have a few more gigs coming up and booking plenty more for summer. Woo hoo! Last Sunday we sang at the Yachats Presbyterian Church, where we found the most interesting windows. Unpolished beach agates are embedded in resin sheets and make up these windows. The texture of the resin makes it look like a watercolor painting. Beautiful! By the way, the GraceNotes have a nice new website . Check it out!
