It's Time for Senior Portraits!

The days are getting longer - yay! - and will be noticeably longer after this weekend's change to daylight savings time. Double yay!

This picture of Jamie was one of the very first High School Senior Portraits I took. As we were walking out to the beach that day in May of 2005, she asked me, "So... how many seniors have you done so far?" To which I replied, "You're the first." She wasn't very impressed with that answer, but she was very impressed with her portraits. That's how it all started.

If you have a High School Senior in your family, or know someone who will graduate this year, get on the phone (541-336-2606) and get your date reserved. You'll want to make sure you have your prints in time to include them in your announcements and invitations. Let's get out there and take advantage of this nice weather to create some beautiful Senior Portraits!

Road Trip! Part Seven: The Rocky Mountains

 The next couple of days were spent sightseeing in the Rockies with my favorite cousin, Melanie. One major highlight was a ride on the  Georgetown Loop Railroad .  The weather was perfect, the company was awesome, and the scenery was second to none. Click on one of the pictures to enlarge them into a filmstrip view. What a great ride!  I highly recommend it if you're ever in the Denver area. Next, we went to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Cousin Melanie got a shot of a moose; I was too far away.  Great shot, Mel! This was mid-June.  It was fun to see snow and walk around on it, we don't get much here at the Oregon Coast! I put my mom's ashes in the creek in her hometown. I sure do miss her. Next up:  The Tetons!

Marshmallow farm?

On the way home from the Tillamook Forest Center last Sunday, Eric stopped the car so I could snap some shots of what looks like a farm that produces giant marshmallows. We watched the machine that wrapped these giant hay bales in white plastic. Why they do this, I don't know. To keep the hay fresh, perhaps? It is kinda fun to picture these things as giant marshmallows, tho.

Agate Windows

The GraceNotes have been busy lately, singing at assisted living facilities around the county. We have a few more gigs coming up and booking plenty more for summer. Woo hoo! Last Sunday we sang at the Yachats Presbyterian Church, where we found the most interesting windows. Unpolished beach agates are embedded in resin sheets and make up these windows. The texture of the resin makes it look like a watercolor painting. Beautiful! By the way, the GraceNotes have a nice new website . Check it out!
