What a couple of weeks its been. I met my sister Shari and nephew Scott for the first time. Scott is only 5 years younger than I am. What a trip. I'm so tickled to finally meet Shari tho. Here she is with Scott and our dad.

I was hired to cover a wedding earlier this month in Seal Rock at this gorgeous home.

This is Coin of the Realm. They are absolutely awesome! Check them out. They play a lot of local events and venues. Definitely worth making the effort to get out and enjoy their amazing talents.

My friends Brooke and Jerry got married this weekend, I'll post some of my favorite shots from that this afternoon.

Apparently our weather still seems to think it's November. It's raining sideways here today. My calendar says it's spring. Sheesh.

Road Trip! Part Seven: The Rocky Mountains

 The next couple of days were spent sightseeing in the Rockies with my favorite cousin, Melanie. One major highlight was a ride on the  Georgetown Loop Railroad .  The weather was perfect, the company was awesome, and the scenery was second to none. Click on one of the pictures to enlarge them into a filmstrip view. What a great ride!  I highly recommend it if you're ever in the Denver area. Next, we went to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Cousin Melanie got a shot of a moose; I was too far away.  Great shot, Mel! This was mid-June.  It was fun to see snow and walk around on it, we don't get much here at the Oregon Coast! I put my mom's ashes in the creek in her hometown. I sure do miss her. Next up:  The Tetons!

Marshmallow farm?

On the way home from the Tillamook Forest Center last Sunday, Eric stopped the car so I could snap some shots of what looks like a farm that produces giant marshmallows. We watched the machine that wrapped these giant hay bales in white plastic. Why they do this, I don't know. To keep the hay fresh, perhaps? It is kinda fun to picture these things as giant marshmallows, tho.

Agate Windows

The GraceNotes have been busy lately, singing at assisted living facilities around the county. We have a few more gigs coming up and booking plenty more for summer. Woo hoo! Last Sunday we sang at the Yachats Presbyterian Church, where we found the most interesting windows. Unpolished beach agates are embedded in resin sheets and make up these windows. The texture of the resin makes it look like a watercolor painting. Beautiful! By the way, the GraceNotes have a nice new website . Check it out!
