Wowsers! Time Flies...

It's been a really busy couple of weeks! Holy cow. Seems I've hardly had time to catch my breath.
I'm so glad to have had some wonderful spring weather this week. Been summerizing the back yard and spending some much needed time in the sun. Ahhh...

Been busy at the studio too, I got to photograph an Oreodon fossilized skull that my friend Guy found, what an awesome and fun job that was!! Here are a couple of my favorite shots of it.

And last weekend was Easter Portraits here at the studio, and here are some of my faves...

The City Council has lots going on lately, and this has been taking up a lot of my time and attention, too. I'm SO excited about this and can't wait to go to Tampa and help win it!! Woo hoo!!

Road Trip! Part Seven: The Rocky Mountains

 The next couple of days were spent sightseeing in the Rockies with my favorite cousin, Melanie. One major highlight was a ride on the  Georgetown Loop Railroad .  The weather was perfect, the company was awesome, and the scenery was second to none. Click on one of the pictures to enlarge them into a filmstrip view. What a great ride!  I highly recommend it if you're ever in the Denver area. Next, we went to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Cousin Melanie got a shot of a moose; I was too far away.  Great shot, Mel! This was mid-June.  It was fun to see snow and walk around on it, we don't get much here at the Oregon Coast! I put my mom's ashes in the creek in her hometown. I sure do miss her. Next up:  The Tetons!

Marshmallow farm?

On the way home from the Tillamook Forest Center last Sunday, Eric stopped the car so I could snap some shots of what looks like a farm that produces giant marshmallows. We watched the machine that wrapped these giant hay bales in white plastic. Why they do this, I don't know. To keep the hay fresh, perhaps? It is kinda fun to picture these things as giant marshmallows, tho.

Agate Windows

The GraceNotes have been busy lately, singing at assisted living facilities around the county. We have a few more gigs coming up and booking plenty more for summer. Woo hoo! Last Sunday we sang at the Yachats Presbyterian Church, where we found the most interesting windows. Unpolished beach agates are embedded in resin sheets and make up these windows. The texture of the resin makes it look like a watercolor painting. Beautiful! By the way, the GraceNotes have a nice new website . Check it out!
