This morning's session

Image
I had a very cute young lady in here this morning for some senior portraits. She brought along her best friend to be in some of them. As you can see, the friend was oh-so-excited to be here. Anyway, here are a couple of my favorites.

Stand-Outs

I recently got some new samples of a product I call 'Stand-Outs' - portraits that are mounted on acrylic and cut out to stand up on a shelf or table top. They are just the neatest thing. Here's a pic of some of them sitting on my table here at the studio. They make wonderful gifts, and are just unusual enough to really catch your attention. I love them. Stop by the studio and see them for yourself. I promise you'll be as enraptured with them as I am.

What's Old is New Again

First, the old. I had a client bring in some photos of her now-late husband, taken when he was a young man. A very handsome young man, by the way. One of the pictures was very badly damaged and part of it is missing. Luckily one of the other ones she brought me was intact enough for me to 'steal' his hair from and replace it in this photo restoration. She hasn't seen these yet but I'd venture a guess that she is going to be very happy with the results. I love PhotoShop! And, another client brought in a framed panorama picture of Yaquina Bay from 1936, when the bridge was brand new. What a wonderful picture it is, too, with no distortion of any kind. A marvel of photography even today, and it is from 71 years ago. He created his own panorama of the same bay from the very same location in 1980. It was neat to study those images, because those were my stomping grounds back in the early 80s. What he asked of me was to do a new panorama of the bay as it looks today from that

Multiplicity

For something a little different, I've been creating these composite images of the high school seniors I've captured. They have been really popular, but they kinda tend to scare the parents just a little, I think... It must be the thought of having that many kids... Not sure on that. Anyway, I wanted to share a few with you and see what you think of them. You can view them as larger images if you click on them. Stephanie in the trees This is Kyle, the first composite I did. The bright colors really pop for me. This is Kevin, using the same tree as Kyle. This is Carson on the jetty. And Brittney in the woods. She reminds me of Sprites in this one. And Brittney in a tree at Ona Beach State Park, one of my favorite places to shoot portraits. I'm providing portrait services for the annual Charity Ball for the Children's Advocacy Center tonight. I'm looking forward to it.

What's New?

First off, Happy Birthday to my sweet husband Eric. I love you. And now you're older than me... neener neener... Eric helped me with a High School Senior portrait session a couple of days ago. The weather here has been nothing short of spectacular, even though its been pretty cold at night. The sunset light is just so beautiful to work in. We used Newport's Yaquina Bay Bridge and south jetty for the settings. Here are a few of my favorite portraits of Carson. I hope you like them, too!
